After ending its first season on a cliffhanger, Amazon Prime Video has canceled the show, according to Variety.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cCountdown,\u201d starring actor Jensen Ackles, followed a Los Angeles Police Department detective, played by Ackles, investigating the murder of a Department of Homeland Security officer.<\/p>\n The show premiered in June and made a brief appearance on Nielsen\u2019s top 10 streaming originals chart, according to Variety.<\/p>\n The show\u2019s finale aired on Sept. 3 and featured a cliffhanger regarding the fate of one of the show\u2019s main characters.<\/p>\n In a post on Instagram<\/a>, Ackles shared his thoughts on the show\u2019s cancellation.<\/p>\n \u201cAs some of you may have seen already, \u2018Countdown\u2019 did not get picked up for another season,\u201d Ackles said. \u201cAmazon\u2019s gonna let it go, and it\u2019s a bummer because I had such an amazing time making that show. Had an absolute blast with the cast and the crew.\u201d<\/p>\n The show was created and written by Derek Haas, and also starred Jessica Camacho, Violett Beane, Elliot Knight, Uli Latukefu and Eric Dane.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m thankful for the experience,\u201d Ackles said. \u201cI really am.
