When Brittany O\u2019Grady shows up, the projects are never ordinary. From the soulful chaos of\u00a0Star\u00a0to the glossy darkness of\u00a0The White Lotus\u00a0and the chilling twists of\u00a0It\u2019s What\u2019s Inside, O\u2019Grady has carved out a career defined by risk, depth, and fearless choices. This week, the multi-talented actress joined\u00a0The Wayne Ayers Podcast<\/a>\u00a0to unpack a whirlwind season of premieres, passion projects, and her blockbuster leap into\u00a0Jumanji 4.<\/p>\n O\u2019Grady\u2019s recent film release is Netflix\u2019s political thriller A House of Dynamite, premiering on October 24, 2025. Directed by Academy Award winner Kathryn Bigelow, the series explores what ordinary citizens would do in case they were confronted with a nuclear danger. O\u2019Grady\u2019s character is Lily Baerington, an aide to Congress, and the wife of Jake Baerington, played by Gabriel Basso.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s such a tense, human story,\u201d O\u2019Grady explained. \u201cMy role was to remind audiences that people in positions of power still have families, still have homes, still have something to lose. It was about humanizing that world.\u201d<\/p>\n The cast is a dream lineup featuring Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, and Anthony Ramos, to name a few. When asked who O\u2019Grady would have liked to act with, she laughed: \u201cI mean\u2026 Idris Elba. Obviously.\u201d<\/p>\n If A House Of Dynamite is an action-packed blockbuster, then O\u2019Grady\u2019s other recent release is the antithesis, an unpretentious, down-and-dirty indie film that could possibly be O\u2019Grady\u2019s personal film yet.<\/p>\n In Our Blood, directed by Pedro C.S., is a mockumentary thriller about a young woman searching for her estranged, addicted mother after she disappears. O\u2019Grady describes the script as life-changing:<\/p>\n \u201cI read the ending in a corner on my phone and literally called my team like,\u00a0Did I read this right?\u00a0It broke something open in me as an artist.\u201d<\/p>\n Alongside actors EJ Bonilla, Alanna Ubach, and Kisha Fairchild, the movie combines horror and heartbreak in a climax topped with a mind-blowing twist. O\u2019Grady went on to say that filming in New Mexico made her appreciate independent films even more because it offered \u201ca feeling so grounded, so collaborative. Intimate. Like everyone is making the world together.\u201d<\/p>\n She believes it is one of her favorite films, but then goes on to say with parental pride, \u201cAll my projects are my children.\u201d<\/p>\n And then came the news that made headlines around the world: Brittany O\u2019Grady in\u00a0Jumanji 4.<\/p>\n O\u2019Grady remembered that she discovered the part during a shopping trip with a friend in Banana Republic: \u201cI was circling racks of sweaters, trying not to scream. My first blockbuster in the middle of a mall.\u201d<\/p>\n Even though she doesn\u2019t have much to say yet, she is super excited to be involved in the re-creation of the classic series by director Jake Kasdan. \u201cThe original with Robin Williams was such a big part of my childhood. I\u2019m just honored to be part of that world.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked if she\u2019s met either \u201cThe Rock\u201d or \u201cKevin Hart,\u201d O\u2019Grady joked, \u201cNot yet. But I\u2019m preparing myself.\u201d<\/p>\n O\u2019Grady\u2019s own film career has careened from one medium to another: from the musical television grind in\u00a0Star\u00a0to the HBO high-end programming in\u00a0The White Lotus, and on to horror movies like\u00a0It\u2019s What\u2019s Inside.<\/p>\n She admits she wasn\u2019t a horror fan at first: \u201cBut by doing them, I grew into it. Now I understand why people are obsessed. There\u2019s a satisfaction in the twists, in confronting fear. And yes, I\u2019d absolutely love to play a horror villain someday.\u201d<\/p>\n Beyond horror and thrillers, O\u2019Grady wants to stretch even further: Bond villain, Broadway-style musical lead, animated voice actress. \u201cI want to use my whole wheelhouse,\u201d she said. \u201cRoles where I can transform physically, emotionally, musically, that\u2019s where the joy is.\u201d<\/p>\n She is also working on HBO\u2019s final season of\u00a0The Comeback\u00a0alongside Lisa Kudrow, diving into comedy after years of heavy drama. \u201cEvery day on that set I\u2019m laughing my butt off. It\u2019s brilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n No Wayne Ayers interview would be complete without fans of Star invading the conversation.
