Following three releases in the last three years, Poor Things director Yorgos Lanthimos<\/strong> says he\u2019s finally ready to take a break from filmmaking. This comes ahead of the release of his latest feature, Bugonia<\/strong>, starring Emma Stone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Yorgos Lanthimos recently opened up about the exhaustion that comes with creativity. When asked by Collider<\/a> how he continues to make great films at such a rapid pace, the director admitted, \u201cWell, I can\u2019t keep doing that anymore. That\u2019s what we\u2019re certain of right now.\u201d He added, \u201cI think I need a break. I\u2019ve said that before in between the other three, but I\u2019m serious now. You can hold me to it. I\u2019m going to take a little break.\u201d<\/p>\n Lanthimos explained that his creative process often forces him to jump straight into the next project before fully recovering from the last one. \u201cI decide which film to make every time a script is ready, so when it is ready, and we\u2019ve been working on something for such a long time, it just feels like a shame to leave it there,\u201d he said. \u201cSo I kind of forced myself to find the time to do it immediately after I finished something.\u201d<\/p>\n That pattern led to him filming Kinds of Kindness during post-production on Poor Things and now, Bugonia<\/a>, an adaptation of Jang Joon-hwan\u2019s 2003 South Korean comedy Save the Green Planet!.
