Ace Frehley<\/strong> was laid to rest in a private funeral ceremony in New York. One week after the legendary KISS lead guitarist died at age 74, his longtime friend, Sirius XM personality and music historian Eddie Trunk<\/strong>, posted an emotional update for fans.<\/p>\n In a video posted to his Instagram page<\/a>, Trunk shared details of the memorial service and funeral for the late music legend. \u201cToday, Ace Frehley was laid to rest in a cemetery in the Bronx, NY. Of course, where he grew up, very close to where his parents were buried, which were his wishes,\u201d Trunk said.<\/p>\n Trunk, who attended the funeral on Oct. 22 and the memorial the day prior, said the services were attended by \u201ca small group of friends and immediate family,\u201d including fellow original KISS rockers Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, <\/strong>and Peter Criss<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was not a big event by any means,\u201d Trunk said. \u201cNothing with fans or anything like that, just a very small private service for Ace. And it was attended by the three surviving members of KISS\u2014Gene, Paul, and Peter.\u201d<\/p>\n He added that some of Frehley\u2019s bandmates from his solo bands, such as Frehley\u2019s Comet, were also in attendance. \u201cIt was wonderful to celebrate Ace and remember him and give him a good sendoff,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Trunk also revealed that he hopes to organize a fan tribute concert for Frehley with musicians who were influenced by the guitar legend. \u201cI think he\u2019d love that, I thinks he deserves that,\u201d Trunk said, adding that he has already received approval from Frehley\u2019s family to explore the idea at some point in the future.<\/p>\n Trunk also shared a prayer card from Frehley\u2019s funeral. A source for Tampa Bay Music News<\/a>also shared that the private service was attended by “about 75 people, mostly musicians who had played with\u00a0Ace, recorded with him, or simply hung out with him over the years,\u201d as well as family, close friends, and all the members of the original lineup of KISS.<\/p>\n Frehley, 74, died on Oct. 16 following complications from a fall.<\/p>\n Soon after, his former KISS bandmate Paul Stanley posted a throwback photo of the two to Facebook<\/a> and wrote, “I remember 1974 being in my room at the Hyatt on Sunset in LA and I heard someone playing deep and fiery guitar in the room next door. I thought, \u2018Boy, I wish THAT guy was in the band!\u2019 I looked over the balcony\u2026 He was. It was Ace. This is my favorite photo of us\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n KISS bassist Simmons posted a remembrance of Frehley to X<\/a>, writing, \u201cOur hearts are broken. Ace has passed on. No one can touch Ace\u2019s legacy. I know he loved the fans. He told me many times.\u201d<\/p>\n Simmons also expressed sadness that Frehley didn\u2019t live to see the band reunite at the Kennedy Center ceremony that will be held in December to honor the band\u2019s lifetime artistic achievement.<\/p>\n \u201cAce was the eternal rock soldier.
