Former Dancing With the Stars<\/em> pro Cheryl Burke<\/strong><\/a> thinks Andy Richter<\/strong> could make it to the season 34 finale.<\/p>\n Richter\u2019s Dancing With the Stars<\/em> journey<\/a> has been one of the season\u2019s most surprising for most viewers and even Richter alike. The comedian, 58, has managed to stay in the competition, defying the odds and even his own expectations.\u00a0But Burke, 41, isn’t surprised.<\/p>\n “This is nothing new to the show,” she told Variety<\/a>. “This has been happening. Welcome! I\u2019m not surprised at all.”<\/p>\n The two-time Mirrorball Champion added:”This guy could easily make the finals.”<\/p>\n The former\u00a0Conan O’Brien <\/strong>sidekick\u00a0has\u00a0a heartwarming demeanor that creates a compelling story each week he remains in the competition.\u00a0\u00a0His\u00a0dancing\u00a0doesn’t\u00a0what’s most appealing with the audience (and even the judges) each week.<\/p>\n “He\u2019s staying authentic to who he is,” Burke said of Richter’s tenure in the competition. “And I think there\u2019s no secret there. Emma [Slater]<\/strong> is a great partner.”<\/p>\n Burke isn’t sure Richter would have made it this far in the competition without Slater, 36.\u00a0“That\u2019s a credit to the casting director and the showrunners,” Burke said. “They know the pros. The intention is always to try and support people. No one\u2019s setting anyone up for failure.”<\/p>\n After his Wicked<\/em> Night jazz performance, Richter earned three 7s from the judges \u2014 solid scores that reflect real improvement. Of course, there’s still room to grow. Next week, he and Slater will\u00a0perform a paso doble to “Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op.67: I. Allegro con brio” by\u00a0Ludwig van Beethoven for Halloween Night.<\/p>\n Fans can’t get enough of Richter’s genuine approach (the Hosier yell moment!). He is staying true to himself while leaning into the humor\u00a0of the situation \u2014 he can’t believe he’s still in the competition either, as evidenced by his reactions when he’s safe each week.
