Scroll down to read more!<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p><em>VICE: This year marks 22 years of All Time Low, and I\u2019m wondering, is there a song you\u00a0could credit with being the one that was the biggest inspiration for starting the band?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Alex Gaskarth: Wow, great question. Hard to pinpoint just ONE song that would\u2019ve led to the creation of this band, but if I had to pick one that encapsulates all four of us at that time back in 2003, I\u2019d probably say Burnout by Green Day. It\u2019s one of the first songs we played together as a band, before we\u2019d even thought\u00a0about a band name or writing our own music. It\u2019s the song we came together over.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>VICE: In the song \u201cOh No!\u201d from your new album,\u00a0Everyone\u2019s Talking!, there\u2019s this great line that really sticks out: \u201cMy vices pressed in vinyl on repeat.\u201d What song has been most on repeat for you lately?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>AG: Gotta give it to my boys in Five Seconds of Summer. I think their single \u201cNot Ok\u201d is just too much fun. What song of his do you recommend\u00a0to anyone who may be new to his music?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>AG: <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/ruston-kellys-pop-punk-inspired-new-single-pickleball-is-his-version-of-blink-182s-first-date-exclusive\/\">His newest album<\/a> is fantastic, but if I have to choose just one song, I\u2019ve got to go with the one that got me into him in the first place\u2013 \u201cFaceplant.\u201d*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>(* This is the correct answer. We would have also accepted \u201cSon of a Highway Daughter\u201d or \u201c1000 Graves.\u201d)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>VICE: About 15 years ago, you guys wrote the song \u201cPainting Flowers\u201d for Tim Burton\u2019s\u00a0Alice in Wonderland\u00a0film, and<\/em> I actually\u00a0don\u2019t have a question for this one.<em> I\u2019ve just always really loved that song because it\u2019s so perfectly written, and I wanted to tell you.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>AG: LOL Thank you! Interestingly, it was a song that was already written, and we sort of took it apart and rearranged it a little to make it more our own\u2026But it was a song written for the soundtrack that we were asked to perform.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p><em>VICE: \u201cDear Maria\u201d is in the upper echelon of songs about a specific\u00a0girl, so what\u2019s your all-time favorite song with a woman\u2019s name in the title?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>AG: It\u2019s a toss-up for me between Jolene by Dolly Parton and Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles. Jolene was the first song that came to mind, but Eleanor Rigby means a lot to me.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>VICE: Lastly, I just wanted to say congrats on\u00a0Everyone\u2019s Talking!\u00a0and ask, what does this new album represent for All Time Low?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>AG: It represents some kind of rebirth and reinvigoration towards the band.
