Although the pair covered a vast array of interesting topics in the interview, fans can rest assured knowing the film is on track. Based on Gunn&#8217;s comments, it can be surmised that filming will begin around April 2026 and the film should be released sometime in 2027. Although the adversaries have begrudgingly worked together in the comics, it doesn&#8217;t happen often. Many fans assume it must be a monumental threat, like Brainiac, to unite the less-than-dynamic duo. Either way, the upcoming sequel will likely be an even larger undertaking than the original, both in spectacle and overall importance to the DCU.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As Gunn confirmed in the interview, this is his fourth draft of the film. This alone proves that there is a tremendous amount of work and care that is going into the film. Even in pre-production, this movie has likely gotten more attention than several other important feature films. He is likely to produce one or two more drafts before the film finally begins shooting in April. That said, fans have other DC projects to look forward to until the movie releases.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In the end, James Gunn&#8217;s Superman sequel is set to be just as popular as the first. Although the script is only in the drafting phase, fans have already begun to generate hype around the project.
