Actress June Lockhart, known for playing Mariah Ramirez on General Hospital, <\/em>has died at the age of 100.<\/p>\n

Remembering June Lockhart<\/h2>\n

Lockhart was known to soap fans as GH\u2019s Mariah Ramirez, a role she held from 1984-2000. Mariah was the grandmother to Felicia (Kristina Wagner<\/a>), and the namesake of Maxie (Kirsten Storms, who recently took a leave from GH<\/a>), whose real name is Mariah Maximiliana Jones. Mariah\u2019s husband was Maximilian Ramirez, who was never seen on screen, and who Maxie\u2019s middle name comes from.<\/p>\n

After Lockhart\u2019s time in Port Charles came to an end in 2000, the character later died off screen in 2007.<\/p>\n

Aside from daytime, Lockhart was best known for her roles in films such as 1954\u2019s Lassie<\/em>, 1944\u2019s Meet Me in St. Louis, <\/em>and 1934\u2019s A Christmas Carol. <\/em>The actress, whose career spanned nine decades across television, film, and theater, also starred as Maureen in the series Lost in Space.<\/em><\/p>\n

Lockhart was a two-time Emmy Award nominee, a Tony Award recipient, and received two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.<\/p>\n

Lockhart celebrated her 100th birthday on June 25, and according to NBC News,<\/a> died of natural causes in her Santa Monica, CA home on Thursday, October 23.<\/p>\n

GH fans took to X (formerly Twitter) with memories of Lockhart\u2019s time on GH.<\/p>\n
