Jenna Dewan<\/strong><\/a> light-heartedly shared her 12-year-old daughter Everly Tatum\u2019s preparation for an Irish dance competition.<\/p>\n The Step Up<\/em> alum, 44, joked via her Instagram Story<\/a> on Saturday, October 25, that one of the key steps in getting Everly ready for her performance was applying \u201cinstant tanner\u201d at 7 a.m. That\u2019s dedication!<\/p>\n The early morning preparation seemingly paid off as a later video on Dewan\u2019s Instagram Story showcased Everly effortlessly performing her formal routine.<\/p>\n Of course, the mom of three \u2014 who shares Everly with ex-husband Channing Tatum<\/strong>, plus she shares son Callum, 5, and daughter Rhiannon, 1, with fianc\u00e9 Steve Kazee<\/strong> \u2014 has a wealth of experience to rely on as she guides her young daughter\u2019s foray into competitive dancing.<\/p>\n Dewan started her career as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson<\/strong>, Celine Dion<\/strong> and Pink<\/strong> before putting her dance experience to excellent use in her 2006 breakthrough movie Step Up<\/em>.<\/p>\n Surprisingly, the actress previously told Us Weekly<\/em> that Everly initially wasn\u2019t interested in dancing<\/a> as she grew up, despite coming from two parents with strong performance backgrounds. (Tatum costarred with Dewan in Step Up<\/em> and also appeared in the Magic Mike<\/em> movies.)<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve always had this joke that coming from two dance parents, she just had no interest at all,\u201d she told Us<\/em> in 2022. \u201cRecently, she\u2019s wanted to take up Irish dancing \u2026 on her own accord.\u201d<\/p>\n Dewan explained that Everly\u2019s interest in Irish dance caught both of her parents completely by surprise since it was such a far cry from their styles.<\/p>\n \u201cShe was like, \u2018Oh, my gosh, I want to do that,\u201d the Come Dance with Me<\/em> judge explained. \u201cAnd now she\u2019s going to Irish dance classes. She is so serious about it. She loves it. We are in it to win it \u2026 in her own way. That\u2019s very Evie. She wants to do things in her own unique way. It\u2019s so cool.\u201d<\/p>\n At the time, Dewan hinted to Us<\/em> that her son Callum may be the next member of the family to try dancing, since he has \u201ca little swag [and] a little bounce\u201d like his dad. (Kazee has an extensive musical theater background, including winning a Tony Award for his leading performance in Once<\/em>.)<\/p>\n \u201c[Callum] already has a bit of an inclination for rhythm and music,\u201d she teased. \u201cSo we\u2019ll see. I\u2019m very big on not pushing [my interests] on my kids because I want them to find what they\u2019re uniquely interested in. But yeah, they\u2019re finding it.\u201d<\/p>\n Dewan and Tatum got together in 2006 after meeting on the set of Step Up<\/em> and eventually tied the knot in 2009. Both have been reluctant to publicly discuss their 2018 separation and subsequent divorce, though Tatum, 45, admitted to Variety<\/em> in September that he\u2019d worked through any issues<\/a> with his ex-wife in order to coparent Evie.<\/p>\n \u201cJenna and I are good now, but it was a painful break to have that fall apart, especially being so young,\u201d Tatum acknowledged. \u201cWe tried to keep it together, tried for a year and a half. \u2026 It\u2019s in the past.\u201d<\/p>\n
