Jessica Miglio \/ Paramount Pictures \/ Courtesy of Everett Collection<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n All eyes were on Colleen Hoover<\/strong>\u2019s second film adaptation<\/a>, Regretting You<\/i>, amid the ongoing legal battle between It Ends With Us <\/i>stars Blake Lively<\/strong> and Justin Baldoni<\/strong> \u2014 but the new stars weren\u2019t bothered.<\/p>\n \u201cIt’s just a vastly different vibe and topics,\u201d Mason Thames<\/strong>, who plays Miller Adams, told Entertainment Weekly <\/i><\/a>in an interview published on Saturday, October 25, of the environment on set of the upcoming film.<\/p>\n Hoover, 45, published Regretting You <\/i><\/a>in 2019, centered around teenager Clara (McKenna Grace<\/strong>) and her mother, Morgan (Allison Williams<\/strong>) as they navigate the death of Clara\u2019s father (Scott Eastwood<\/strong>). Their loss and the immediate aftermath ultimately lead to the unraveling of even more family secrets. At the same time, Clara finds love with Miller (Thames).<\/p>\n Regretting You <\/i>is Hoover\u2019s second novel to be adapted for the big screen, following 2016\u2019s It Ends With Us. <\/i>The film version was released in August 2024, in which Lively, 38, and Baldoni, 41, played a couple in an abusive relationship. After filming wrapped, Lively named Baldoni in a lawsuit<\/a>, accusing him of sexual harassment, fostering a hostile work environment and attempting to ruin her reputation.<\/p>\n McKenna Grace Teases Upcoming Role in Colleen Hoover Adaptation of \u2018Regretting You\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n Baldoni, who also directed It Ends With Us<\/i>, vehemently denied the accusations before filing a $400 million defamation suit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds<\/strong>. The married couple denied Baldoni\u2019s allegations before the case was dismissed<\/a> in May.
