Lee Gaze<\/strong>, lead guitarist & backing vocalist for the defunct Lostprophets<\/strong>, has been indulging in some nostalgia as of late with his new project. The details for that group are largely being kept under wraps at the moment, however, a potential singer for it has been located. Furthermore, fellow Lostprophets<\/strong> veteran, bassist\/vocalist Stuart Richardson<\/strong>, has been involved as well, having been confirmed to be overseeing some of the mixing thus far.<\/p>\n

Both Gaze<\/strong> and Richardson<\/strong> went on to form No Devotion<\/strong> alongside Thursday<\/strong> vocalist Geoff Rickly<\/strong> and more back in 2014. However, that outfit has been routinely hamstrung by scheduling, among other challenges<\/a>. Despite the seemingly persistent setbacks, No Devotion<\/strong> remains a going concern going forward with this new project set to exist alongside it.<\/p>\n

Asked earlier this month if this new endeavor would sound a bit \u201crockier\/heavier\u201d than No Devotion<\/strong>, Gaze<\/strong> implied it is more in a vein akin to his output with Lostprophets<\/strong>. Some posts he made related to that can be found below:<\/p>\n

Of course, addressing the elephant in the room, Gaze<\/strong> in the past has publicly condemned his late Lostprophets<\/strong> bandmate, Ian Watkins<\/strong>, who was murdered in prison earlier this month<\/a>. Watkins<\/strong> had been serving out a 29 year sentence with a license of six years in HMP Wakefield for child-related sexual offences<\/a>. Gaze <\/strong>has largely remained quiet publicly on the passing of Watkins<\/strong>. As seen in the above timestamps, work on this project also commenced prior to Watkins<\/strong>\u2018 October 11th murder.<\/p>\n

The revelation of Watkins<\/strong> activities upon his arrest brought Lostprophets<\/strong> to an abrupt end, with Gaze<\/strong> publicly speaking out against Watkins<\/strong>\u2018 actions back in 2014<\/a>. At that time, several former members of Lostprophets<\/strong> talked to the press about Watkins<\/strong> and his erratic behavior ahead of the charges.<\/p>\n

Despite multiple drug intervention attempts and spiraling history of drug abuse that resulted in violent altercations with Watkins<\/strong> backstage<\/a>, the rift between the band and Watkins<\/strong> worsened. All former members of the band stated they had no prior knowledge of his heinous activities. As Gaze<\/strong> put it in 2014:<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was absolutely nothing that led us to suspect what he\u2019d done. I think he created such a smokescreen. I hate to rely on clich\u00e9s, but when you see the profile of a paedophile, he couldn\u2019t be any further from it. He was always surrounded by all these women, so it just seemed impossible.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Lostprophets<\/strong> had achieved a considerable level of success prior to Watkins<\/strong>\u2018 crimes, landing a gold album in the United States, and numerous platinum, gold and silver certifications in the United States. This past July, Gaze <\/strong>publicly lamented what could have been with the band, stating on X:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been 13 years since my band ended in the most unimaginable circumstances and it\u2019s still painful to think about. Things could\u2019ve been so different. I don\u2019t talk about it much but I put everything into that band and it should\u2019ve lasted a lifetime. I never really wronged anyone my whole life so it seemed like the ultimate punishment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n
