Guillermo del Toro<\/a> has made his thoughts on the use of AI in filmmaking very clear, saying he would \u201crather die\u201d than work with artificial intelligence.<\/a><\/p>\n The triple Oscar winner drew parallels between the tech bros who are using the technology to the \u201carrogance\u201d of Frankenstein<\/a>, the Mary Shelley character who he is bringing to screens with his new Netflix<\/a> film.<\/p>\n Speaking to NPR<\/a>, the Pan\u2019s Labyrinth and Shape of Water filmmaker, 61, said that \u201cnatural stupidity\u2026 is what drives most of the world\u2019s worst features\u201d.<\/p>\n He said he wanted his take on Frankenstein to \u201cbe similar in some ways to the tech bros\u201d, adding: \u201cHe\u2019s kind of blind, creating something without considering the consequences and I think we have to take a pause and consider where we’re going.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cAI, particularly generative AI \u2013 I am not interested, nor will I ever be interested. I\u2019m 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak\u2026 The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, \u2018What is your stance on AI?\u2019 And my answer was very short.
