Nobody Wants This<\/em><\/a> star Tovah Feldshuh<\/strong> is seemingly coming to her costar Kristen Bell\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> defense in the wake of her anniversary post controversy.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith my beloved Kristen Bell, one of the finest human beings I know,\u201d Feldshuh wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Friday, October 24, sharing a photo of Bell, 45, and Feldshuh, 76, embracing. \u201cHer humanity parallels her beauty and her talent, all of which are embracing and immense.\u201d<\/p>\n

Feldshuh stars on the series as Bina, the overprotective, judgmental mother of Adam Brody\u2019s<\/strong> Noah.<\/p>\n

Bell came under fire after posting an anniversary message for her husband, Dax Shepherd<\/strong>, on October 17.<\/p>\n

When Netflix released season 2 on Thursday, October 23, viewers followed Joanne (Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) after they decided to fully commit to making their romance [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHappy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: \u2018I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I\u2019m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would,\u2764\ufe0f\u2019\u201d Bell, 45, wrote via Instagram.<\/p>\n

While some fans thought the caption was funny and clearly an inside joke, others didn\u2019t appreciate the type of humor<\/a> Bell seemed to convey amid the ongoing epidemic of intimate partner violence. (An estimated one in four women will be the victim of domestic violence in their lifetime, and homicide is the leading cause of death among pregnant women in the United States.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s nothing funny about domestic violence \u2018jokes\u2019 that trivialize the very real fear, trauma and pain that millions of victims and survivors face each day,\u201d a rep for The National Network to End Domestic Violence shared in a statement to Page Six<\/em> on October 21. \u201cEspecially during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we all have a responsibility to support victims and survivors, to invest in proven solutions and to speak about this issue with the seriousness it deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans also weighed in on the actress\u2019 post. \u201cWhat a wild thing to post during Domestic Violence Awareness month,\u201d one user commented.<\/p>\n

In response, Bell limited her comments on Instagram before canceling an October 22 appearance<\/a> on the Today<\/em> show to promote the second season of her hit Netflix series. Us Weekly<\/em> reached out to Today and Bell\u2019s team for comment at the time.<\/p>\n

Other longtime fans of Bell and Shepherd rose to the couple\u2019s defense.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was trying to be funny. They seem to have a relationship filled with humor which is great,\u201d one fan wrote in Us Weekly\u2019s Facebook comments section. \u201cShe just had poor timing not realizing October is domestic violence awareness month. She wasn\u2019t out to hurt anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
