A recent analysis seeking to determine the \u201cbest movie of all time\u201d attempts to answer a few of these questions, and perhaps others.<\/p>\n

Are you in \u2018Group 7\u2019? TikTok\u2019s newest trend, explained <\/a><\/p>\n

The analysis,<\/a> conducted by the pop-culture website PixlParade, utilized several metrics to rank the 50 \u201cgreatest\u201d films ever made. These metrics included award nominations, award wins, inflation-adjusted box-office tallies, critical reception and audience reception \u2014 the latter two sets of data having been obtained from IMDb (user score), Rotten Tomatoes (critic consensus) and Metacritic (both critics\u2019 scores and audience scores).<\/p>\n

Films were evaluated based on these weighted metrics, which were assigned point values by PixlParade. Each film\u2019s overall score (out of 100) was determined by the total number of points earned.<\/p>\n

The \u201cgreatest\u201d film of all time, according to the analysis, was determined to \u201cThe Godfather.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis classic scored an impressive 77.86 out of 100 and a fantastic 9.2 rating on IMDb, a perfect 100 on Metacritic, and took home the Best Picture award along with three Oscars,\u201d PixlParade explained of its findings.<\/p>\n

Rounding out the top five were \u201cSchindler\u2019s List\u201d (with a score of 76.58), \u201cThe Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King\u201d (72.70), \u201cParasite\u201d (72.46), and \u201cThe Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers\u201d (72.32).<\/p>\n

    It\u2019s worth noting that PixlParade did not consider all movies in its ranking, but rather only films that appeared on both (overlapped) on the IMDb Top 250<\/a> (which is based on user reviews) and the Rotten Tomatoes 300 Best Movies of All Time<\/a> (which is based on critics\u2019 evaluations). Because of this, a representative for PixlParade said the ranking was compiled from films that tend to \u201clean toward more Hollywood and Western movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

    PixlParade\u2019s list may also favor movies celebrated by Hollywood awards ceremonies, since the site only evaluated the nominations\/wins each film received at the Oscars or Golden Globes, and not any additional foreign or international film competitions. Smaller, independent films might also fail to rank high on PixlParade\u2019s list due to their narrower releases, and therefore their lower box-office numbers.<\/p>\n

    No matter what the final ranking found, PixlParade acknowledged that there are \u201cmany ways to judge a movie.\u201d<\/p>\n
