Karla Mosley<\/strong>, who began her daytime television career in 2008 and became a fan favorite on Guiding Light <\/em>and The Bold and the Beautiful,<\/em> is now making television history as one of the lead stars of CBS\u2019s new daytime drama Beyond the Gates.<\/em> The actress recently opened up about why being a part of this groundbreaking series feels so special.<\/p>\n Speaking <\/a>with JLJ Media\u2019s Candice Mack<\/strong> on the red carpet at the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, Mosley reflected on her experience brining the Dupree family to life on Beyond the <\/em>Gates, which centers on a powerful Washington, D.C. based Black family navigating love, ambition, and legacy.<\/p>\n With a laugh, Mosley admitted, \u201cYou know the evolution of my pride could be a whole other episode, because obviously I was excited.\u201d<\/p>\n Mosley then emphasized the show\u2019s cultural importance, saying, \u201cTo have a show that centers around a Black family when we’ve been watching soaps for so long, and to get that kind of just facetime in this genre feels so special.\u201d<\/p>\n Beyond the Gates<\/em> features television royalty, with Tamara Tunie<\/strong> and Clifton Davis <\/strong>anchor the Duprees, as matriarch Anita and patriarch Vernon. It’s messy, but it’s also relatable,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Reflecting on viewers\u2019 reactions, Mosley said she\u2019s touched by the love fans have for Dani. \u201cThe thing that I love is how people love Dani, like truly love her,\u201d she shared. \u201cI keep going, \u2018Okay, this is going to be the thing, people are going to hate Dani.” And they’re like, \u2018No, we get it. Okay, we wish she would do a little better.
