<\/story-highlights> The arts and entertainment district known as The Gallery passed its latest test before a board in Madison on Tuesday, Oct. 21.<\/p>\n The City of Madison Board of Aldermen gave The Gallery a vote of approval for site plan and architectural design for all six buildings of the development. The Gallery is a privately funded, mixed-use destination that will include entertainment, dining, retail and office space in a designed community.<\/p>\n Work has begun on the\u00a0Madison development project<\/a>, located off Galleria Parkway on 17 acres visible from I-55 North.<\/p>\n A local development group on April 22, announced intentions to build a $60 million arts and entertainment district for\u00a0Madison<\/a>. Ground has been broken on the\u00a0economic development<\/a>\u00a0project, and now the city has given its blessing.<\/p>\n \u201cThis approval comes almost a year to the day after we first presented our conceptual vision to city leaders,” Chad Phillips, senior VP, president of Bellamare Development Services, Bellamare Development, told the Clarion Ledger. “Bellamare is incredibly proud of the collaboration between our team, city officials, and community partners. The City\u2019s final approval marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Madison\u2019s growth story.”<\/p>\n Phillips said he expects much of the work will be complete by the fall 2026.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Gallery is a testament to what can be achieved when a community\u2019s voice shapes the vision,” said Sunny Sethi, president and CEO of Bellamare Development Services, Bellamare Development. “Every aspect of this development \u2014 from its entertainment venues to its dining experiences \u2014 was inspired by the hopes and ideas shared by Madison residents. We\u2019re deeply grateful for the City\u2019s final approval and honored to bring this shared vision to life.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n An iconic Jackson restaurant is adding a second location<\/a>, and it will be at the Gallery.<\/p>\n Pig & Pint<\/a>, which opened in the Fondren District of Jackson in 2014 and has become one of the signature barbecue restaurants in all of Mississippi, recently announced it will become a part of the\u00a0Gallery<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cAt The Pig & Pint, we\u2019ve always been about chef-driven barbecue and craft beer, served with a side of nostalgia and true Southern hospitality,\u201d said Scott Jackson, founding partner of The Pig & Pint. \u201cMadison has such a strong sense of community, and we\u2019re excited to be part of it with our second location.\u201d<\/p>\n At the heart of the project is Spinners, a 120,000-square-foot indoor\/outdoor family entertainment center featuring bowling, skating and other games. While there is another Spinners location in Florence, Phillips told the Clarion Ledger the new location is much different and larger in scale.<\/p>\n “As always, Madison does it right the first time, and we are excited about this venue coming to our city. Very soon we will see some very happy children,\u201d said Mary Hawkins Butler, Madison mayor.<\/p>\n\n
