Actress Erin Murphy<\/a><\/strong>is sharing her thoughts about her magically gifted Bewitched <\/a><\/em>character Tabitha Stephens.<\/p>\n While speaking to ReMind Magazine<\/a> in October 2025, Murphy referenced that she played Tabitha, the daughter of witch Samantha Stephens\u00a0(Elizabeth Montgomery<\/strong>)<\/a> and her mortal husband, Darrin Stephens (Dick Sargent <\/strong>and Dick York<\/strong>), from Season 3 to the show’s eighth and final season. Murphy shared how she believes Tabitha would be living her life in the modern day. The 61-year-old actress said she envisions her character as being free with her magical powers and finding great success.<\/p>\n “I think she would be very successful at whatever she did. I think she would not be afraid to use her magic because women of my generation and Tabitha\u2019s generation are free to be and do whatever they want. So, I think she wouldn\u2019t feel the need to hide in the closet. She would be out there living her best life,” said Murphy to ReMind magazine.<\/p>\n The character, Tabitha, had her very own 1977 spinoff series titled Tabitha<\/em> that ran for one season, as reported by IMDb<\/a>. Tabitha was played by actress Lisa Hartman<\/strong>, per IMDb.<\/p>\n In a 2020 interview with Studio 10<\/a>, Murphy explained that she and her twin sister, Diane Murphy, were 2 years old when they were cast for the third season of Bewitched<\/em>, which began airing in 1966. She said that she enjoyed filming more than her sister, so she eventually took over the role of Tabitha completely.<\/p>\n Murphy also said while she doesn’t “remember the audition process because [she] was a baby,” she “remember[s] all of the show.”<\/p>\n Murphy made similar comments in the October 2025 ReMind Magazine interview. She said that people don’t believe she actually remembers filming the show because she was so young.
