\u201cWe all wanna be loved and find real connection and it\u2019s out there to find once we stop accepting the bare minimum. Sometimes\u2026 they are just a bad person\u2026 who\u2019s sometimes good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deva\u00a0<\/strong>started writing Sometimes Good\u00a0<\/em>when she was living in New Orleans but only finished it last year. \u201cIt took me until last year to find all the words I wanted to say. It\u2019s like it took me that long to get to the truth of what I wanted to say. To write the letter to myself, I needed to hear,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

Sometimes Good<\/em>\u00a0is the latest in a series of singles released by\u00a0Deva<\/strong>\u00a0as she builds to revealing her highly-anticipated new EP, created alongside Christchurch-born producer and artist\u00a0Chris Wethey<\/strong>, as well as\u00a0Andy Kravitz\u00a0<\/strong>(Grammy Album of the Year nominee for his work on Andre 3000\u2019s new album). The EP is due out in 2026 and includes the already-released\u00a0APRA Silver Scroll 2025 finalist<\/strong>\u00a0\u2018South Coast\u2019<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and the steamy R&B ballad \u2018Need<\/strong><\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

The project features collaborations with London-based writer\/producer\u00a0Est\u00e8re<\/strong>, producer\/guitarist\u00a0Ashton Sellars<\/strong>, Latin Grammy Award-winning band\u00a0Flor de Toloache<\/strong>\u00a0(Mireya Ramos, Chey Fiol),\u00a0Alan Markley, Jacob Bills, Lydia Cole, Iris Little,<\/strong>\u00a0and London pianist\u00a0Ollie Rockberger<\/strong>\u00a0(Laura Mvula).
