While the scene played out in seconds, Elwood Reid revealed that there was more to it behind the scenes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWe shot a whole bit where they argued about how to fake the death,\u201d Reid told <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvline.com\/2006221\/tracker-season-3-episode-2-recap-russell-shaw-jensen-ackles-spinoff\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:TV Line;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">TV Line<\/a>. \u201cRussell\u2019s the \u2018I\u2019ve done this before\u2019 guy, while Colter\u2019s trying to do everything by the book. It was funny, but we had to cut it for time. The ketchup shot said it all \u2014 and it\u2019s perfectly on-brand for Russell.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Before disappearing at the end of the premiere, Russell promised to chase down a mysterious phone number tied to the brothers\u2019 late father. Reid confirmed that the storyline will resurface around Episodes 6 or 7, though it\u2019s unclear whether Ackles will appear again this season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Reid admits he\u2019s already imagined what a Russell Shaw-led spinoff might look like. \u201cWe\u2019re cautious,\u201d he said. \u201cTracker is Justin\u2019s show, and we never want to do anything that cheapens it. That said, Russell\u2019s military background opens the door to a very different kind of series \u2014 one that plays to Jensen\u2019s strengths,\u201d he further stated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Reid left fans with one final hint that he\u2019s rooting for it to happen. \u201cWe didn\u2019t even ask for permission,\u201d he said about Russell\u2019s closing line in the second episode. \u201cWe just put it in there.
