PEOPLE<\/em>. <\/a>\u00a0\u201cI wake up every day and I\u2019m just like, \u2018I have a little being that is here,\u2019 \u201d KJ tells the publication. \u201cShe looks like a little angel. She\u2019s so precious.\u201d<\/p>\nSkyh shared that he\u2019s \u201cdefinitely wrapped around her finger.\u201d He added: \u201cI get up. I walk around for three hours if she wants me to,\u201d the new dad gushed. \u201cMy gym workouts are a little bit longer because [I\u2019m] staring at her videos that her mom sends me. She\u2019s perfect, man. She\u2019s so perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n
Their birth plan didn\u2019t go as they wished. Initially, they wanted a home birth surrounded by all of their close family and friends. But a long labor, 48 hours in, the plan switched. \u201cI don\u2019t think our midwife was equipped with how she handled my wife\u2019s birth,\u201d Skyh said. \u201cThere were certain things that were done that I personally as a husband and a father don\u2019t feel that had my wife\u2019s best interest at heart.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was the hardest day of my life,\u201d KJ explained. \u201cIt was really hard because \u2026 I was so dead set on having a natural birth, and I just knew it was going to work for me. It worked for so many people and I was like painfully optimistic.\u201d<\/p>\n
Everything was set up for the homebirth, but she was in severe pain. A quick call to boss Perry proved to be a gamechanger. Despite filming his next project out of the country, Perry answered on the first ring.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis first question was, \u2018What\u2019s wrong?,\u2019 [and] his next question was, \u2018Where is Skyh?\u2019 \u201d KJ recalls. \u201cI just hand Skyh the phone, and all I know is in the next minute. My whole family\u2026is scrambling.\u201d<\/p>\n
Thanks to Perry, the couple were able to get a private room at Northside Hospital Atlanta. KJ underwent an emergency c-section to delivery baby Pryde. Skyh says he is forever indebted to Perry for stepping in and taking action, as things could have gone awry. KJ wasn\u2019t in the delivery room for his baby\u2019s birth, but he says the moment he held her, everything made sense. The couple says the unexpected delivery taught them a major lesson on pivoting, which is necessary in parenting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
