While Lucasfilm has not issued an official statement, a new report indicates that Rogue Squadron<\/strong> could now move forward in a different format as the project continues to evolve.<\/p>\n A new report from industry insider MyTimeToShineHello<\/a> states, \u201cRogue Squadron is now being developed as a TV series.\u201d The news follows years of fluctuating updates regarding the project, which was first announced in December 2020 as a theatrical film directed by Wonder Woman filmmaker Patty Jenkins for Lucasfilm.<\/p>\n In March 2024, Jenkins told the Talking Pictures Podcast<\/a> that she had resumed work on the Star Wars movie after her departure from Wonder Woman 3. She confirmed, \u201cI now owe a draft of Star Wars. So we will see what happens there. Who knows? They have a hard job in front of them.\u201d Jenkins said she remained committed to Rogue Squadron, calling the story \u201ca fighter pilot movie\u201d inspired by her late father\u2019s military service.<\/p>\n Lucasfilm initially delayed the film in November 2021 because of scheduling conflicts and later removed it from its production slate.
