Everyone’s favorite Yellowstone<\/em> creator is set to switch gears in a major way.<\/p>\n Taylor Sheridan<\/strong> has closed a long-term film and television deal with NBCUniversal, outlets including Deadline<\/em> reported<\/a> on Sunday, Oct. 26.<\/p>\n The massive five-year overall deal for film, TV and streaming will begin on Jan. 1, 2029 after Sheridan\u2019s overall TV deal with Paramount ends, which goes through 2028.<\/p>\n Also moving to NBCUniversal is Sheridan\u2019s close collaborator David Glasser<\/strong> and his 101 Studios, Deadline<\/em> noted.<\/p>\n The surprising move comes amid a new era in talent wars that began with Skydance\u2019s recent acquisition of Paramount Global. In one of the combined company\u2019s first major moves, it poached Stranger Things<\/em> creators Matt Duffer<\/strong> and Ross Duffer<\/strong> from their longtime Netflix home with a similarly huge film and television deal.<\/p>\n Sheridan, 55, is one of the industry\u2019s biggest talents, having conceived the Yellowstone<\/em> universe, its spinoffs, Tulsa King<\/em>, Special Ops: Lioness<\/em> and Mayor of Kingstown<\/em>. A-listers including Kevin Costner<\/strong>, Harrison Ford<\/strong>, Helen Mirren<\/strong>, Sam Elliott<\/strong> and Jeremy Renner<\/strong> have graced his work over the years.<\/p>\n His NBCUniversal deal is expected to be a rich one, as The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> noted<\/a>, though he will have to create wholly new IP when he does make the jump in a few years.<\/p>\n As is typical in these deals, Paramount owns Yellowstone<\/em> and the other franchises he has created for that company. Still, Sheridan’s programming has become a dramatic backbone of the Paramount+ streaming platform, and will likely continue to be for years to come.<\/p>\n In other Sheridan news, it was revealed earlier this month that Oscar winners Nicole Kidman<\/strong> and Zoe Salda\u00f1a<\/strong> are confirmed to return<\/a> for season 3 of Lioness on Paramount+.
