\n\t\u201cHeartbeats,\u201d the bestselling memoir of tennis legend Bj\u00f6rn Borg<\/a>, is set for a stylish adaptation with popular Swedish director Jonas \u00c5kerlund<\/a> on board to direct. <\/p>\n

\n\tBanijay<\/a> Entertainment labels Jarowskij\/Yellow Bird and Mastiff Sweden are co-developing the scripted project with \u00c5kerlund, who\u2019s best known for his groundbreaking music videos for Madonna, Beyonc\u00e9, Lady Gaga and The Rolling Stones, as well as films such as \u201cPolar,\u201d \u201cSpun,\u201d \u201cLord of Chaos\u201d and the Netflix series \u201cClark.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCurrently in development, the screen adaptation will chart Borg\u2019s meteoric rise to tennis stardom, including his unprecedented five consecutive Wimbledon titles, and his shocking decision to retire at just 26 years old. Published by Norstedts under its original title, Hj\u00e4rtslag, the memoir delves into Borg\u2019s life beyond the tennis court, starting from his childhood and shedding light on years of financial collapse, media scrutiny and ultimately, his personal reinvention.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve spent my entire life in matches \u2013 both on and off the court,\u201d Borg said. \u201cJonas wants to explore both sides, and I feel the time is right for that. He has the eye, the energy, and the courage to tell my story in his own way,\u201d he continued. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u00c5kerlund, meanwhile, said, \u201cEveryone knows Bj\u00f6rn Borg for his legendary moments on the court, for his fierce, unparalleled power as an athlete and icon.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe ambitious project reflects Banijay Entertainment\u2019s growing expansion in sport storytelling, following the launch of Banijay Sports<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tMattias Olsson, Mastiff Sweden\u2019s head of creative, and Elin Kvist, Jarowskij\/Yellow Bird\u2019s CEO, said \u201cWe are incredibly proud to have been entrusted with this unique story, about one of the greatest sports heroes of all time, Bj\u00f6rn Borg,\u201d they said in a statement. \u201cThere\u2019s only one person who can tell it, and that\u2019s the cultural force of Jonas \u00c5kerlund. This is going to be a memorable biopic that must be seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBorg was previously the subject of a 2017 film by Janus Metz which explored his rivalry with John McEnroe. Borg was played by Sverrir Gudnason while McEnroe was played by Shia LaBeouf.<\/p>\n

\n\tMastiff Sweden\u2019s roster of ambitious formats includes the recently announced TV4 culinary showdown \u201c100 Knives,\u201d co-developed with Banijay Americas label Bunim\/Murray Productions, as well as a long running local version of \u201cSurvivor,\u201d and \u201cLove is Blind Sweden,\u201d serving as the production partner for multiple Netflix adaptations.<\/p>\n

\n\tJarowskij\/Yellow Bird, meanwhile, has delivered hit scripted productions like \u201cDiary of a Ditched Girl,\u201d \u201cA Nearly Normal Family,\u201d \u201cMillennium,\u201d The Restaurant, and is working on the reboot of \u201cWallander.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBanijay Entertainment is home to over 60 labels, producing more than 110 titles annually, including \u201cHouse of Guinness,\u201d \u201cHalf Man\u201d and the \u201cCulpa\u201d trilogy. The Nordic slate includes
