Miley Cyrus uses “make-up as a microphone”.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old pop star was recently announced as a global brand ambassador for Maybelline and she opened up about love of cosmetics at a launch party in Los Angeles on Friday (24.10.25) celebrating the company’s new Moisturizing Serum Lipsticks – with the singer revealing she uses her make-up looks to express the theme of her music.<\/p>\n
According to PEOPLE, she told the crowd at the event: “You truly can’t have Maybelline without Miley. It’s kind of in the name … [This] is such a timely partnership …<\/p>\n
“Everything in my life has happened in divine timing. Nothing could have happened before or after. Every moment was written in destiny and fate for me, and I think that this particular partnership could not have been at more beautifully impeccable timing.<\/p>\n
“It feels very serendipitous. It feels kismet. It feels like something that I could have never designed or dreamed.”<\/p>\n
She went on to say: “[It is] such an important part of my artistry right now [to use make-up] in a way that expresses what I am trying to convey, whether that’s in my music, my poetry, my words.<\/p>\n
“I’ve always used make-up as a microphone … to deeply express what I’m trying to convey through my lyrics.”<\/p>\n
Miley’s partnership with Maybelline was announced in September, with the singer sharing an Instagram posted declaring she felt “honoured” to have been chosen to represent the brand.<\/p>\n
She wrote: “Maybe She\u2019s Born with It. Maybe It\u2019s Maybelline. Maybelline New York has always been a part of my life. It\u2019s what is. What was. And what will be.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s iconic. Honored to be stepping in as the new face and voice of a brand I love. Together, we\u2019re celebrating the power of Maybe – because Maybe holds the power of possibilities. “<\/p>\n
Miley has also rerecorded her own version of the brand’s Maybe it\u2019s Maybelline jingle. In a later post on Instagram, she added: “I used to watch Maybelline commercials on TV and imagine myself as the face of the brand.<\/p>\n
“Now, I\u2019ve reimagined the iconic Maybe she\u2019s born with it, Maybe it\u2019s Maybelline jingle with a new song. Love you!”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
