Rosal\u00eda is officially back! On Oct. 27, the Spanish superstar revealed \u201cBerghain.\u201d It\u2019s the first single from her upcoming album, LUX<\/em><\/a>. The result? An unexpected, chaotic, dramatic, orchestral track that left us speechless. \u201cBerghain\u201d features Icelandic singer-songwriter Bj\u00f6rk and American experimental musician Yves Tumor.<\/p>\n After weeks of speculation, Rosal\u00eda finally released new music. She previously teased \u201cBerghain\u201d on her social media by publishing the song\u2019s sheet music. Curious social media users interpreted the notes<\/a> with their instruments, but little did they know that the Spanish singer would add opera vocals and a captivating choir to the mix. The song\u2019s intro features Rosal\u00eda in a new light: singing opera in German alongside an orchestra. She then sings in Spanish as classical music dramatically decrescendos, giving space for lyrics like: \u201cYo s\u00e9 muy bien lo que soy \/ Ternura pa\u2019l caf\u00e9 \/ Solo soy un terr\u00f3n de az\u00facar \/ S\u00e9 que me funde el calor \/ S\u00e9 desaparecer \/ Cuando t\u00fa vienes es cuando me voy.\u201d<\/p>\n Visually, the music video follows Rosal\u00eda as she goes through her day\u2014having coffee, making her bed, ironing, and riding a bus, as an orchestra following her every move. Towards the end of the video, she enters a Snow White<\/em>-esque universe as Bj\u00f6rk (as a bird) sings in German and English. The outro features Miami-born artist Yves Tumor with loud drums, adding to Rosi\u2019s fever dreams. The music video was directed by longtime Nicol\u00e1s M\u00e9ndez, who also directed \u201cMalamente,\u201d \u201cTKN,\u201d and \u201cPienso En Tu Mir\u00e1.\u201d<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time Rosal\u00eda has collaborated with Bj\u00f6rk. The two artists released their joint track \u201cOral\u201d<\/a> in 2023, as part of a campaign to combat open-net pen fish farming in Iceland. \u201cOral\u201d is a dancehall experimental track co-produced by themselves and Sega Bodega. With \u201cBerghain\u201d we see a different side of their creative minds, giving us a new classical track with the help of the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dan\u00edel Bjarnason.<\/p>\n LUX is out Nov. 7.
