Tame Impala<\/a> returned earlier this month with its fifth studio album Deadbeat<\/em> \u2013 and on Monday, Oct. 29 at Brooklyn\u2019s Barclays Center, the Australian psychedelic rock outfit returned to the stage with its first proper show since a headlining performance at Lollapalooza Brazil in March 2023.<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n But Tame Impala and its creative mastermind, Kevin Parker<\/a>, have remained busy. After the arena run in support of Tame\u2019s fourth album, February 2020\u2019s The Slow Rush<\/em>, was put on ice a couple shows in due to the pandemic, Parker and company returned to the road in late 2021, kicking off two years of heavy touring. Last year, Parker produced much of Dua Lipa\u2019s third album, Radical Optimism<\/em>, and he appeared on two Justice songs, one of which, \u201cNeverender,\u201d won a Grammy for best dance\/electronic recording.<\/p>\n And, with Deadbeat<\/em><\/a>, which continues the evolution of Tame\u2019s original psych-rock sound toward more dance-oriented music, Parker notched another milestone: The set\u2019s single \u201cDracula\u201d became his first entry as lead artist on the Hot 100, and currently sits at No. 59 on the tally.<\/p>\n At Barclays Center on Monday, and backed by the colorful, elaborate production that has become Tame Impala\u2019s calling card, the group honored its psychedelic history while running through much of Deadbeat<\/em> for a career-spanning set that reaffirmed its bona fides as one of modern rock music\u2019s biggest draws.
