A variety of musicians and ensembles will welcome audiences to several Kalamazoo College Department of Music<\/a> fall concerts in November.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Academy Street Winds<\/a> will perform music from the Jazz Age at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 9, in Dalton Theatre at Light Fine Arts.\u00a0<\/p>\n The concert will be headlined by Kurt Weill\u2019s Suite from Three-Penny Opera, which reflects new musical trends that followed World War I.\u00a0<\/p>\n The ensemble functions as a beloved creative outlet for woodwind, brass and percussion students. Community musicians joined the ensemble in winter 2016 to expand the group\u2019s sound and capabilities. Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music Greg Bassett serves as the group\u2019s director. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.\u00a0<\/p>\n The College Singers<\/a>, directed by Associate Professor of Music Chris Ludwa, invite audiences feeling anxious over current events to participate in a brief respite with a concert that promises melodies, harmony and poetry from humanity\u2019s great traditions of wisdom.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n Join this ensemble composed of mixed soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices representing music majors and non-music majors alike at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, at Stetson Chapel.
