But that win \u2014 and the robust festival run that followed it \u2014 didn\u2019t inspire U.S. distributors to come calling.<\/p>\n But alas, the Tunisian production \u2014 and Tunisian representative for the Best International Feature Oscar next year \u2014 has found a stateside home. Much like the Oscar-winning Palestine-Israel-conceived documentary \u201cNo Other Land,\u201d<\/a> \u201cThe Voice of Hind Rajab\u201d will be released by its own stakeholders: in this case, the distribution arm of the film\u2019s production company, WILLA.<\/p>\n More from IndieWire<\/strong><\/p>\n The film will open theatrically on December 17, launching in New York (Film Forum) and Los Angeles (Laemmle Theatres), with a national rollout to follow, as announced on Tuesday. \u201cThe Voice of Hind Rajab\u201d already played well theatrically in Tunisia in September, a week after premiering in Venice. Meanwhile, the film opened in Italy on September 25 at number 4 at the box office \u2014 behind \u201cOne Battle After Another,\u201d \u201cGabby\u2019s Dollhouse: The Movie,\u201d and the Italian documentary \u201cAG4IN.\u201d<\/p>\n The film recreates the circumstances that surrounded Hind Rajab\u2019s actual killing in January 2024, in which Red Crescent volunteers struggled to send an ambulance to rescue the child, who was trapped under fire in Gaza. The cast includes Saja Kilani, Motaz Malhees, Amer Hlehel, and Clara Khoury. Producers include Nadim Cheikhrouha (Ben Hania\u2019s \u201cFour Daughters\u201d), Oscar winner Odessa Rae (\u201cNavalny\u201d), and Oscar winner James Wilson (\u201cThe Zone of Interest\u201d). Celebrity executive producers who joined the film also include Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Rooney Mara, Joaquin Phoenix, Alfonso Cuar\u00f3n, and Jonathan Glazer.<\/p>\n Resounding appreciation for \u201cThe Voice of Hind Rajab\u201d started in Italy at the film\u2019s Venice premiere, which earned a 25-minute standing ovation in the Salle Grande after a week of protests in support of Palestine along the Lido. Reportedly, that standing ovation was the longest in the film festival\u2019s history; it even received a standing ovation at the film\u2019s own Venice press conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Voice of Hind Rajab\u201d also won the Audience Award at the San Sebasti\u00e1n Film Festival, the Audience Award for International Feature at Middleburg Film Festival, and the Silver Hugo Jury Prize at Chicago Film Festival. It has also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, AFI Fest, and elsewhere.<\/p>\n The production and distribution company WILLA, meanwhile, focuses on socially relevant projects, with recent releases including Fawzia Mirza\u2019s \u201cThe Queen of My Dreams,\u201d Alonso Ruizpalacios\u2019 \u201cLa Cocina,\u201d and the Sofia Coppola-produced \u201cFairyland,\u201d which premiered at Sundance 2024 and was only recently brought to theaters (and co-distributed by Lionsgate).
