\n\tBusta Rhymes<\/a> paid homage to his longtime friend D\u2019Angelo <\/a>with a new song called \u201cMagic,\u201d which finds Busta rapping over the R&B singer\u2019s 2000 track \u201cOne Mo\u2019Gin.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIn an interview with OkayPlayer<\/a><\/em>, Busta Rhymes spoke lovingly about his longtime friend, and said they originally met through Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad while at a Tribe Called Quest studio session back in 1990.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cIt wasn\u2019t too far from around the timeframe that we were working on \u2018Scenario,’\u201d Busta said. \u201cWhen I met him, it was just a good, beautiful energy with the bro. D\u2019Angelo\u2019s personality speaks volumes because of how reserved he was. When it was time for him to actually speak \u2013 when you heard him sing or play the keyboard \u2014 it magnified the polar opposite of how quiet he was.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAfter elaborating on their unbelievable kinship, he said knowing D\u2019Angelo for 34 years was an unbelievable experience.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI feel like the Earth shifted when D came to do music. He was the embodiment of some s\u2014t that was a complete balance of what our ancestors created, to where he took it,\u201d the rapper said. \u201cThere\u2019s nothing under the sun that hasn\u2019t already been done. But it\u2019s a whole other thing to make it your own and combine what has already been done with what hasn\u2019t been done yet. There have been a lot of soulful artists who played and sang that came before him and came after him. But the impact was nowhere near the level that he was able to do it on just three albums across 34 years.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tD\u2019Angelo died on Oct. 14 after a private battle with pancreatic cancer, with artists continuing to come out in support of the late singer<\/a>. <\/p>\n \n\tCheck out Busta Rhymes new song \u201cMagic\u201d below:<\/p>\n
