Online<\/a><\/p>\n Elaine Hendrix<\/a> <\/strong>is on the mend.<\/p>\n Hours before she was supposed to take the stage alongside her pro partner Alan Bersten<\/strong> for Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a>‘ Halloween Night, the Parent Trap<\/em> star was hospitalized during a dance rehearsal, forcing her to miss the Oct. 28 episode.<\/p>\n “I injured my ribs during ‘Defying Gravity’ and today they just seized up,” Elaine shared in a video posted to her Instagram<\/a>. “I couldn’t move. They brought me to the hospital.”<\/p>\n And while the injury prevented her from entering the ballroom this week, the Dynasty<\/em> alum insisted that she will recover in time to compete next week.<\/p>\n “The doctor has said that with a day or two of rest, I should be able to continue and that’s exactly what I want to do,” Elaine continued. “I want to dance, I want to keep doing this.”<\/p>\n Thanking Alan for “holding down the fort,” the 54-year-old went on to encourage her fans to vote for the pair this week using rehearsal footage that aired during the episode, showing them doing the Argentine tango to George Thorogood & The Destroyers<\/strong>‘ song “Bad to the Bone.” The practice earned them 8s across the board from the judges, which counts toward this week\u2019s score.<\/p>\n “I was so excited for this routine,” Elaine added. “Just know that I love you all, thank you for the support.”<\/p>\n Indeed, Dancing With the Stars<\/em> cohosts Alfonso Ribeiro<\/strong> and Julianne Hough<\/a> <\/strong>emphasized that Elaine and Alan were still in the competition after she was cleared by a doctor to continue in the series, if they get enough votes.<\/p>\n And though the dancing duo is hopeful to get another chance to take the stage, Alan detailed just how scary it was to see his partner in pain in a video message recorded shortly after she was rushed to the hospital.<\/p>\n “Elaine and I were dancing, and all of a sudden, Elaine kind of froze and said she can’t move and she can’t breathe, and something happened with her rib,” Alan recalled in the footage shared during the Oct. 28 DWTS<\/em> episode. “She’s in so much pain that I don’t know if we’re gonna dance tonight.”<\/p>\n He added at the time, “It’s just a lot of unknowns right now, I just hope this isn’t the end of Elaine’s dream to dance.”<\/p>\n For more on the Dancing With the Stars<\/em> season 34 cast, keep reading.<\/p>\n More from E!
