Brittany Snow<\/strong><\/a> admitted she was \u201creally upset\u201d after a Hunting Wives<\/em><\/a> scene involving her character was cut.<\/p>\n

Snow, 39, shared during the Tuesday, October 28, episode of the \u201cNot Skinny But Not Fat<\/a>\u201d podcast that the deleted scene offered viewers more context into Sophie O\u2019Neil, her character on the Netflix drama that follows a murder investigation in Texas.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not in it [the show] as much as \u2026 a lot of my part got cut,\u201d she began before detailing the missing scene. \u201cThere was a scene in Hunting Wives<\/em> that I was really upset got cut because it sort of made sense why my behavior was so weird on the show. There\u2019s a scene I read in episode 8 where she [Sophie] has this complete panic attack, breakdown \u2026 and she starts hitting herself and hitting her hand on the steering wheel and crying and screams.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snow continued, \u201cThen she goes right into stoicism and just becomes completely void and gets out of the car. I remember thinking, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s how she reacts to problems, she\u2019s become so used to being a mother and a woman that will only have her breakdowns in her car.\u2019 So, I thought, \u2018Well, that\u2019s how I\u2019m going to play her character.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Hunting Wives took a lot of inspiration from May Cobb\u2019s novel \u2014 but there were also some surprising changes. Netflix released the first season in July 2025, which followed Sophie (Brittany Snow) after she relocated from Boston to an East Texas town. Sophie ultimately found herself drawn to prominent socialite Margo (Malin \u00c5kerman) and [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She concluded that \u201cwhen you take that scene out, it just looks like I\u2019m completely\u2026\u201d before trailing off in laughter. \u201cI loved that scene. I care about the fact that [Sophie] had coping mechanisms that I wanted to work into the character.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snow, whose character moves to the fictional town of Maple Brook where she befriends a group of wealthy socialites, noted during the interview that she understood why some scenes wind up being omitted before an episode is finalized.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know that it was because I\u2019m a siloed story [and] it really needs to be about the actual case and what happened,\u201d Snow said, reiterating how much she enjoys working on the show. \u201cI was just so grateful to be a part of it. I mean, truly, it\u2019s a show that I would watch and so that\u2019s always a marking of something I want to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snow added that she aired her concerns over the cut scene to the show\u2019s creator and writer, Rebecca Cutter<\/strong>, who assured her the decision was made after some consideration. \u201cThey said the episode was too long. But they promised me, in season 2, it will make more sense,\u201d Snow told host Amanda Hirsch<\/strong>. (It was revealed during season 1 that Sophie had a history of DUIs, including one fatal accident, before moving to Texas with her husband and son.)<\/p>\n

During the podcast, Snow also expressed her gratitude to costar Malin Akerman<\/strong> who she said made her comfortable while filming the pair\u2019s sex scenes<\/a>. \u201cWith Malin and I, we were constantly like, \u2018Are you OK? Can I put my hand here?\u2019 It was just so nice and so different,\u201d Snow revealed. \u201cWe ate too many mints. I had an entire tub. It was people pleasing, too. And she was like, \u2018Girl, I don\u2019t care.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
