From the Warren Heritage Society\u2019s week-plus \u201cHaunted Front Royal\u201d exploration of sites housing local ghostly legends and tales, to the October 23rd Jack O\u2019 Lantern Jubilee co-hosted by the County Departments of Social Services and Parks & Recreation at the old Middle School 15th Street track and football field site, to the Saturday, October 25th duo of the Front Royal Airport\u2019s \u201cGreat Pumpkin Drop\u201d and the downtown business community\u2019s \u201cSpooky Saturday 2025\u201d festivities throughout downtown Front Royal\u2019s Historic Business District, it is obvious one day is NOT enough to house an annual celebration of ghosts, goblins, and who knows what else in this community.<\/p>\n
As Halloween approaches this Friday, October 31st, Royal Examiner will take a pictorial exploration of these spooky, yet family-friendly gatherings. Here we will start with downtown Front Royal\u2019s \u201cSpookey Saturday\u201d.<\/p>\n

As the 4 p.m. late afternoon start of the scheduled two-hour \u201cSpooky Saturday\u201d visit to not only vendors, but downtown businesses, approached, we found this invite on the Town website:<\/p>\n
\u201cStep right up, ghouls and goblins of all ages! Get ready for a spooktacular day of fun at our annual \u201cSpooky Saturday\u201d on Main Street!<\/p>\n
\u201cJoin us for a hauntingly good time filled with candy, costumes, and community spirit. Stroll down Main Street, where participating businesses will be ready to hand out sweet treats. Don\u2019t forget to visit our community partners around the gazebo for even more goodies and surprises!<\/p>\n
