\u201cBreaking Bad\u201d creator Vince Gilligan is teaming up with \u201cBetter Call Saul\u201d Emmy nominee Rhea Seehorn for a new sci-fi drama where happiness might be humanity\u2019s downfall, Variety<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n Apple TV has released the first trailer<\/a> for \u201cPluribus,\u201d which is set to debut with two episodes on Nov. 7. The series follows Seehorn as Carol, described as \u201cthe most miserable person on Earth\u201d who \u201cmust save the world from happiness.\u201d<\/p>\n In one scene, the President of the United States addresses her over footage of scientists working in hazmat suits: \u201cRest assured, Carol. We will figure out what makes you different. \u2026 So, you can join us,\u201d he says<\/p>\n Despite secrecy surrounding the plot, Apple TV has already renewed the show for a second season, the report said.<\/p>\n According to Variety, the streaming service began teasing the series on July 25 with cryptic marketing.<\/p>\n A teaser clip showed Seehorn approaching a phone displaying the messages \u201cCall us\u201d and \u201cNo pressure,\u201d alongside an Apple-operated phone number. Callers who dialed \u201c0\u201d received a text message reading: \u201cPlease know your life is your own, Carol. You have agency!\u201d<\/p>\n In a 2023 interview with Variety, Gilligan distinguished \u201cPluribus\u201d from his previous programs, noting it has \u201cno crime, and no methamphetamine.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cThe world changes very abruptly in the first episode, and then it is quite different,\u201d he explained \u201cIt\u2019s the modern world \u2014 the world we live in \u2014 but it changes very abruptly.
