Netflix has won a bidding war for a drama series starring Adam Driver that will follow a tense hostage standoff.<\/p>\n
The streamer has given a straight-to-series order for Rabbit, Rabbit<\/em>, which comes from creator Peter Craig (Dope Thief, The Batman<\/em>) and independent studio MRC. Emmy winner Philip Barantini of Adolescence<\/em> is set to direct. Driver will also be an executive producer.<\/p>\n More from The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n The logline for Rabbit, Rabbit<\/em> reads, \u201cWhen an escaped convict is cornered by law enforcement at a truck stop, he takes hostages in an effort to bargain for his freedom. But the standoff soon escalates into an unmanageable social experiment with his captives, as well as an emotional poker match with a veteran FBI crisis negotiator trained in \u2018tactical empathy.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Netflix isn\u2019t saying at the moment which role Driver will play in the series.<\/p>\n Rabbit, Rabbit<\/em> is the second series Driver has signed onto this year. He\u2019s also set to star opposite Jessica Chastain in the art-wold drama The Dealer<\/a><\/em> at Apple TV. The Oscar and Emmy nominee is coming off Jim Jarmusch\u2019s Father Mother Sister Brother<\/em>.<\/p>\n Craig, who has a first-look deal at MRC, will serve as showrunner on the series and executive produce via his Night Owl company.
