Founded in 2013, the New York-based company claims that it handles <b>30%<\/b> to <b>40% <\/b>of new music releases globally and serves more than <b>2 million<\/b> artists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Direct builds on technology from direct-to-fan platform <b>Bandzoogle<\/b>, which DistroKid <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/distrokid-acquires-website-hosting-and-e-commerce-company-bandzoogle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired in 2023<\/a>. It\u2019s also more sustainable since you are only printing what is ordered. DistroKid made it easy, though \u2013 I chose my artwork, picked the products, and my store was live within minutes. It made the whole process fast and painless.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The merch push puts DistroKid in competition with platforms like <b>Bandcamp<\/b>, which already offer direct sales tools to musicians.
