That\u2019s how Jon Bon Jovi today described legendary Philadelphia rock DJ Pierre Robert who, according WMMR 93.3\u2019s parent company Beasley Media Group, was found dead yesterday in his home. No foul play is suspected. He was 70.<\/p>\n

He hosted the station\u2019s midday show for decades and, with his love for music, became a favorite of not just listeners, but the performers whose music he appreciated. He was well-known for his \u201cGreetings, citizens\u201d sign-on. He especially supported Philadelphia-area bands and performers like Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen.<\/p>\n Bon Jovi called him \u201cgreat friend,\u201d and, \u201cSomeone who truly LOVED music. All types of music. Someone who loved musicians. Not just famous ones, or chart toppers. He admired local artists and tomorrows rising stars.\u201d<\/p>\n Among Robert\u2019s daily features were\u00a0Noontime Workforce Blocks,\u00a0Pierre\u2019s Vinyl Cut, exclusive artist interviews, live in-studio performances and On This Day in history bits. His Christmas Eve shows were extravaganzas that involved holiday tunes and sound clips.<\/p>\n \u201cWe all have heavy hearts today,\u201d said Beasley Media Group Chief Executive Officer Caroline Beasley in a statement. \u201cPierre\u2019s unwavering love for music and his deep connection with listeners made him one of radio\u2019s most enduring and beloved voices.
