During a recent career retrospective video interview with Vanity Fair, the Black Phone 2<\/a> actor opened up about what he observed from watching filmmaker Peter Weir<\/a> direct the late Williams.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m watching him direct Robin Williams, not an easy thing to do, \u2019cause Robin was a comic genius. But dramatic acting was still new to Robin at that time,\u201d Hawke<\/a> recalled. \u201cAnd watching that relationship like, in the room \u2014 I was four feet away while they\u2019re talking about performance \u2014 and that was something you don\u2019t unsee.\u201d<\/p>\n
