Quarterly financials season is underway, with\u00a0Meta announcing its Q3 numbers overnight<\/a>. The company posted $51.24bn of revenues last quarter, up 26% year-on-year. 3.54 billion people are now using its family of apps every day, up 8% year-on-year. And Meta now employs more than 78,000 people across the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed a new milestone for Instagram\u2019s Threads app too,\u00a0telling analysts<\/a>\u00a0that it \u201crecently passed 150 million daily actives\u201d. That\u2019s hot on the heels of\u00a0reaching 400 million\u00a0monthly<\/em>\u00a0active users in August<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Zuckerberg also made it clear that GenAI content is only going to increase on Meta\u2019s services \u2013\u00a0with the company\u2019s full encouragement. \u201cSocial media has gone through two eras so far. First was when all content was from friends, family, and accounts that you followed directly. The second was when we added all the creator content,\u201d he said. \u201cNow, as AI makes it easier to create and remix content, we\u2019re going to add yet another huge corpus of content on top of those.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n Zuckerberg also predicted that AI \u2018superintelligence\u2019 may arrive in 5-7 years \u2013\u00a0or sooner. Perhaps when it does, the superintelligence\u2019s first action will be to tell Meta\u2019s boss to dial down the AI-slop pumping into people\u2019s feeds\u2026<\/p>\n
