\u201cI don’t really listen to a lot of the old music because I like my voice now,\u201d M\u00fda shares. \u201cIt’s very cringey to me because I sound like a kid.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just a baby when I started fresh out of high school,\u201d M\u00fda adds, recalling how, at such a young age, she found herself in \u201ca position where the world is looking at you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Revisiting her past figures prominently in one of her latest songs, \u201cFace to Face,\u201d<\/a> the music video for which serves as a meditation on what she calls her \u201cjourney of self love\u201d and a look toward her future.<\/p>\n\u201cI am so enamored by the journey because sometimes it takes 25, 27, 30 years to come into who you’re going to be for the rest of your life \u2014 and that’s where I am now,\u201d M\u00fda says. \u201cI’m still growing and evolving every few years \u2014 every six months, sometimes.\u201d<\/p>\n
The “Case of the Ex” singer tells PEOPLE, \u201cI’m just truly proud of myself for withstanding so much. The industry’s changed, the world’s changed, and I\u2019ve kept my sanity in the process, while my art and my craft continue to get better. The world has yet to receive the best of M\u00fda.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m so excited about what’s next,\u201d she continues. \u201cI really feel like I’ve arrived for the first time in this era, in my \u2018grown woman era,\u2019 and that is magical.
