It\u2019s official: Bad Company will be performing at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. <\/p>\n
Well, two of them will anyway.<\/p>\n
Founding member and drummer Simon Kirke, 76, said in a recent interview on Lyndsanity! with Lyndsey Parker<\/a> that he and lead singer Paul Rodgers will play two songs during the ceremony. <\/p>\n \u201cI think the secret is out that we will perform,\u201d Kirke said. \u201cI\u2019m not at liberty to say which songs. I mean, quite honestly, I don\u2019t give a [expletive]. We\u2019re gonna play, and whatever Paul chooses is fine by me.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd just to play with [Rodgers] again is gonna be a real thrill for me, \u2019cause I missed him,\u201d he continued. \u201dI missed playing with the band. I miss playing particularly with Paul, \u2019cause he\u2019s such a wonderful singer.\u201d<\/p>\n Rodgers and Kirk haven\u2019t played together for more than five years, mainly because Rodgers, 77, has had 11 minor strokes and two major strokes over the past decade.<\/p>\n \u201cI haven\u2019t heard him sing since [we last played together], quite honestly,\u201d Kirke said in response to a question about Rodgers\u2019 abilities since the strokes. \u201cI know he has sung, and we are gonna do a couple of rehearsals for the cameras and so on and so forth. But when you have a voice that naturally good, it\u2019s gonna take a hell of a lot for it to fray or devalue or whatever. So I think he\u2019s gonna be fine for the two songs that we\u2019ve chosen.\u201d<\/p>\n Rodgers and Kirke are the the only remaining members of Bad Company still alive. Guitarist Mick Ralphs<\/a> died earlier this year and bassist Boz Burrell died in 2006.<\/p>\n The group is known for such classic rock staples as \u201cFeel Like Makin\u2019 Love,\u201d \u201cRock n\u2019 Roll Fantasy,\u201d and \u201cCan\u2019t Get Enough.\u201d <\/p>\n The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at 8 p.m. Nov. 8 and will stream live on Disney+.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
