Quick-rising Aussie talent Alyla Browne (Sonic the Hedgehog 3<\/a><\/em>, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga<\/a><\/em>) has boarded the new Australian-set psychological horror film From Below<\/em>.<\/p>\n Browne, who played the younger version of Anya Taylor-Joy\u2019s titular Furiosa in the Mad Max<\/em> film and Maria in the latest Sonic<\/em> movie, will play Riley, a 15-year-old travelling across the outback with her dad. When an invisible force drags her father away, Riley finds herself in a life-or-death struggle against a terrifying creature that is only visible to its next victim.<\/p>\n More from The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n Sean Loch, known for his award-winning shorts Rear View Mirror<\/em>, Leech<\/em> and Sleepwalker<\/em>, will direct his own Black List-featured script for From Below<\/em> in his feature debut. Sam Price will produce for Pathline Pictures. The film is set to begin shooting in Australia next year.<\/p>\n Cornerstone has picked up worldwide sales on the project and will be pitching the film to buyers at the American Film Market in Los Angeles next month. Natalie Coleman, former Head of Investments at Head Gear, will executive produce From Below<\/em> together with Cornerstone\u2019s Alison Thompson and Mark Gooder.<\/p>\n \u201cSean has delivered an exceptional screenplay that blends survival thriller, creature feature and outback horror to push beyond the familiar tropes of the genre,\u201d said Price in a statement. \u201cHaving Cornerstone on board is a real testament to that, with their sharp taste for identifying standout projects.
