From getting swallowed by a whale to launching people into space during a geomagnetic storm, Mark Consuelos<\/a>\u2018 guest star stint on 9-1-1<\/a><\/em> has been nothing short of memorable.<\/p>\n \u201cTonight, I have to point out, is, I think, it\u2019s my final episode of my arc<\/a> on 9-1-1<\/em>,\u201d Consuelos told viewers on the Thursday, October 30, episode of Live With Kelly and Mark<\/a><\/em>. \u201cIt comes to a thrilling conclusion.\u201d<\/p>\n His wife and cohost, Kelly Ripa<\/a>, has been such a fan of his 9-1-1<\/em> performance that she wants his character, tech billionaire Tripp Houser, to get his own spinoff. \u201cI love you on this show,\u201d she gushed before sharing her idea for the potential series. \u201cYou bumbling through outer space. The Bumbling Astronaut<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n Live<\/em> executive producer Michael Gelman<\/a> went on to ask Consuelos, \u201cDo they kill you off?\u201d Playing coy, he replied, \u201cYou gotta watch tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n Ripa chimed in, adding, \u201cMark\u2019s not gonna tell you. Yeah, you gotta tune in to see if he dies.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Ripa claims to be just as clueless about Tripp\u2019s fate as fans are. \u201cI don\u2019t even know if he dies. He\u2019s told me nothing,\u201d she insisted.<\/p>\n Max Carver, Mark Consuelos, and Jim Holmes on Season 9, Episode 3, of ABC’s ‘9-1-1,’ October 23, 2025.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Disney\/Christopher Willard<\/p>\n 9-1-1<\/em> Season 9, which premiered<\/a> last month, kicked off with the 118 saving Tripp\u2019s life after he was swallowed by a whale while kayaking. Although the rescue was a group effort, Tripp rewarded Hen (Aisha Hinds<\/a>) by inviting her on a spacewalk with other everyday heroes. Hen agrees and asks Athena (Angela Bassett<\/a>) to join her.<\/p>\n Ignoring warnings from his staff of a dangerous geomagnetic storm, Tripp sends the group into the stars, only for things to go awry when debris causes their vessel to lose contact. The show\u2019s October 23 episode<\/a> ended with Hen, Athena, and their fellow astronauts taking shelter in the International Space Station, just as another wave of debris heads their way.<\/p>\n \u201cObviously, it\u2019s an awful decision. Anybody who\u2019s of sound mind would say, that\u2019s really dangerous and there\u2019s souls in that spaceship,\u201d Consuelos exclusively told TV Insider<\/a> earlier this month of Tripp\u2019s reckless actions. \u201cBut I believe the way I justified it is that he had made a career of rolling the dice and steamrolling and taking big chances and always kind of landing on his feet.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cHe does ask, \u2018What\u2019s the percentage? What\u2019s the percentage chance?\u2019 And they said it\u2019s 43.8%. I said, \u2018I\u2019ll take those odds.\u2019 I\u2019ve probably made decisions with worse odds than that and that\u2019s the way he rolls. And so it\u2019s as simple as that.\u201d<\/p>\n Adding to the drama is the fact that Tripp\u2019s fianc\u00e9e, Tricia (June Diane Raphael<\/a>), is one of the astronauts in danger. \u201cNow that you bring that up, that\u2019s really, he\u2019s morally questionable, this guy, which I love,\u201d he joked before describing Tripp and Tricia\u2019s relationship as \u201ctransactional on both sides.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI think his relationships with people are probably all the same,\u201d Consuelos explained. \u201cIt\u2019s probably transactional, and he sees what this person can do for him, and he\u2019s a bit of an egomaniac and a narcissist. So I don\u2019t know if he considers other people that much.\u201d<\/p>\n
