A Bruce Springsteen fan pointed out a minor, if hilarious, inaccuracy in the musician’s biopic, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. Now out in cinemas, the movie stars The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White as Springsteen, and was directed by Scott Cooper.<\/p>\n
Early in the story, the film introduces a composite character, Faye (played by Odessa Young), as Bruce’s love interest. In one scene, while picking up Faye for their first date on New Year’s Eve, the singer meets her daughter Haley, who informs him she’s just had a hot dog.<\/p>\n
When he asks what sauce she had it with, the kid triumphantly says “mustard,” to which Springsteen smiles and says it’s his favourite too.<\/p>\n
While sweet, the scene is factually inaccurate, as a superfan pointed out on Twitter\/X. In real life, Springsteen has actually been quite vocal about his dislike of mustard.<\/p>\n
“In Deliver Me from Nowhere, Bruce Springsteen says his favorite hotdog condiment is mustard but in real life, Bruce Springsteen HATES mustard so much he did a whole yap about it during a show,” the fan wrote<\/a>, including an explanatory clip of The Boss criticising the tangy condiment.<\/p>\n Related: Best film and TV tours for 2025<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n On stage, Springsteen is relaying a story about his favourite sandwich \u2014 “ham, with cheese and lettuce, and a lot of mayonnaise, but no mustard”.<\/p>\n “I don’t like any mustard. I don’t like it on my hot dog, I don’t like it on my sandwiches, no,” he said.<\/p>\n The post had other Springsteen fans join in the debate, with one person writing: “Thank you!
