During the October 30 edition of World News Tonight, anchor David Muir<\/a> reported a significant development from Buckingham Palace that doesn’t bode well for Prince Andrew.<\/a><\/p>\n

Muir relayed to viewers, “Breaking tonight, the extraordinary announcement from Buckingham Palace late today. Prince Andrew soon no longer a prince. King Charles, taking action against his younger brother in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.”<\/p>\n

He then handed over to his London correspondent, who provided additional details, stating that Andrew was “pushed out of the Royal Family over his ties to the convicted sex predator Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>. King Charles is stripping his brother of all his titles.”<\/p>\n

The report highlighted that such a removal of a Royal title hasn’t happened in over a hundred years.<\/p>\n

According to the official statement from Buckingham Palace, the King has “initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” and that Andrew will “now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life. With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me,” he said.<\/p>\n

The last time Royal titles were removed on this scale was in the early 20th century.<\/p>\n

Since 1986, when Queen Elizabeth II<\/a> granted them ahead of his marriage to Sarah Ferguson, Andrew held the title Duke of York, among other honors.<\/p>\n

Following a widely criticized interview about his ties to Epstein, he withdrew from public Royal duties in 2019. A parliamentary motion to strip Andrew of his dukedom was lodged in mid-October 2025. Polls showed that four out of five Britons believed the Duke of York title should be entirely removed.<\/p>\n

The palace stated, “These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
