Butler admitted to having affairs but denied any wrongdoing. Chassagne issued a statement of support for Butler at the time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWhile these relationships were all consensual, I am very sorry to anyone who I have hurt with my behavior,\u201d Butler said in a statement to Pitchfork in 2022. \u201cAs I look to the future, I am continuing to learn from my mistakes and working hard to become a better person, someone my son can be proud of. [&#8230;] I\u2019m sorry I wasn\u2019t more aware and tuned in to the effect I have on people &#8211; I f&#8212;&#8211; up, and while not an excuse, I will continue to look forward and heal what can be healed, and learn from past experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Butler went on to tell the outlet that Chassagne was his \u201csoulmate\u201d and was \u201clucky and grateful to have her by my side.\u201d He later added that Chassagne \u201cwaited patiently watching me suffer and tried to help me as best as she could.
