Uncommon things that have not walked the Earth in years return to life on Halloween.<\/p>\n
That includes rock bands.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s been eight years since The Zou<\/strong>, which was one of Youngstown\u2019s most prominent acts, last performed.\u00a0<\/p>\n But the band will reunite Friday at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., on the city\u2019s west side.<\/p>\n The show will be a three-headed monster.<\/p>\n Khaled Tabbara, who fronted The Zou, and his wife, Katianne Timko Tabbara, now perform as Munnycat<\/strong>, an LA-based electro-pop band that recently released its first full-length album.<\/p>\n Munnycat will start the show that night. And the evening will end with one of The Zou\u2019s notorious \u201cRocky Horror\u201d music sets. Tabbara will be leading the charge on stage for all three performances.<\/p>\n It will be the type of party that hasn\u2019t been unearthed in eons.<\/p>\n The show will start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance at Eventbrite.com<\/a> and $20 at the door.<\/p>\n To learn more, click HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n Here are a few other ghoulish (and normal) events this weekend:<\/p>\n Vampire Circus<\/strong> will come to Powers Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 30). It combines Cirque acrobats and performers, dressed in terror-inducing costumes, in a theatrical show. Go to DeyorPAC.org<\/a> for tickets (which will also be sold at the box office).<\/p>\n November Rain,<\/strong> the annual late-season fireworks show, will take place Saturday at Eastwood Mall in Niles. It will literally be the last bang of Daylight Savings Time. Fireworks will start at 9 p.m. The Prince Project,<\/strong> a Prince tribute band, will perform beforehand.<\/p>\n Iconic singer Judy Collins<\/strong> will return to the Mahoning Valley on Sunday for a 3 p.m. concert at the Robins Theatre in Warren. Market St.<\/p>\n At local theaters, there are three interesting Halloween-ish offerings:<\/p>\n \u201cThree Viewings,<\/strong>\u201d which looks in on\u00a0 conversations during calling hours at a funeral home, is at Selah Dessert Theater<\/a>, inside Selah Restaurant, Struthers, at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the Zone,\u201d<\/strong> which turns five episodes of \u201cThe Twilight Zone,\u201d the landmark television series by Rod Serling, into live theater, is at the Hopewell Theatre, Youngstown, at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
