{"id":2126374,"date":"2025-10-31T05:58:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T05:58:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2126374"},"modified":"2025-10-31T05:58:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T05:58:10","slug":"houston-rodeo-to-swap-ben-bergs-ranch-for-fertitta-restaurant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/houston-rodeo-to-swap-ben-bergs-ranch-for-fertitta-restaurant\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston Rodeo to swap Ben Berg&#8217;s Ranch for Fertitta restaurant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-block-type=\"text\" data-dropcap=\"false\">\n<p>Next year&#8217;s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will replace <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/food-culture\/restaurants-bars\/article\/ben-berg-restaurants-2025-20804818.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Benjamin Berg&#8217;s pop-up<\/a>, the Ranch Saloon and Steakhouse, with a new\u00a0fine dining concept\u00a0from Fertitta Entertainment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block-type=\"text\" data-dropcap=\"false\">\n<p>The Fertitta pop-up, called 1932 Cattleman\u2019s Club, will take over the space at NRG Stadium\u2019s East entrance, offering lunch and dinner service as well as a kid&#8217;s menu. Its menu includes an oyster and raw bar with crudos and a seafood tower, entrees\u00a0like Wagyu carpaccio and maple-glazed quail, plus a selection of steaks, chili\u00a0and mac and cheese.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block-type=\"text\" data-dropcap=\"false\">\n<p>The Ranch has been a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/food-culture\/restaurants-bars\/article\/Inside-The-Ranch-Saloon-and-Steakhouse-16966754.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">fixture at the rodeo<\/a> for the past four years. The rodeo&#8217;s first seated restaurant, it sold everything from steaks to corn dogs, with a bar and live music stage packed into a venue that could fit over 200 people.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block-type=\"text\" data-dropcap=\"false\">\n<p>&#8220;As we continue to evolve and enhance the Rodeo experience, we regularly assess our partnerships to ensure we\u2019re providing unmatched hospitality and introducing new, elevated offerings,&#8221; a rodeo spokesperson said in a statement\u00a0about the change.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block-type=\"text\" data-dropcap=\"false\">\n<p>Berg Hospitality has built up an empire of restaurants around Houston, though the restaurant group has\u00a0faced recent\u00a0setbacks. Since fall of last year, Berg has <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/food-culture\/restaurants-bars\/article\/may-restaurant-closings-houston-20347565.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">closed three restaurants<\/a>, and also dealt with a $3 million\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/food-culture\/restaurants-bars\/article\/berg-hospitality-lawsuit-dismissed-20795827.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">lawsuit over unpaid debt<\/a> that&#8217;s since been dismissed. He has not yet commented on the change at the Houston Rodeo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block-type=\"text\" data-dropcap=\"false\">\n<p>When Berg spoke with the Chronicle about the ups and downs of the restaurant industry\u00a0last month, he said he didn&#8217;t necessarily have a strategy around running the Ranch. It&#8217;s a lot of work for just three weeks of operation, he explained.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block-type=\"text\" data-dropcap=\"false\">\n<p>&#8220;If you get asked by the rodeo, why not? It means so much to this community. And my way is to go way too big,&#8221; he told the Chronicle at\u00a0the time. &#8220;And the numbers don&#8217;t always work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block-type=\"text\" data-dropcap=\"false\">\n<p>He&#8217;d also declined to tease anything about the upcoming rodeo, saying, &#8220;I like my secrets.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block-type=\"text\" data-dropcap=\"false\">\n<p>Fertitta Entertainment, a conglomerate whose holdings include the Houston Rockets and the Golden Nugget casinos, has long been a partner at the Houston Rodeo, according to a news release.
