Rejoice, No Shoes Nation! Kenny Chesney<\/strong> won’t be retiring any time soon. The country music icon, who is preparing an upcoming stint at The Sphere in Las Vegas<\/a>, talked about his future plans in an interview with People magazine<\/a> that was published on Thursday, Oct. 30.<\/p>\n “I know this sounds crazy, but to be in front of 60,000 people on stage, that is where I feel the most comfortable in my life. It truly is. Because when we’re up there for two hours, nobody can mess with me or the band. It’s just us giving the audience everything we have and the audience giving everything back,” Chesney, 57, told the outlet.<\/p>\n Chesney, who will turn 60 in 2028, expressed a genuine love for making music and performing.<\/p>\n “That is one of the most unbelievable feelings that I’ve ever felt in my life. It’s my drug of choice. I don’t regret giving my whole adult life to creating because\u2026 what a way to live. That’s what I’ve always done,” he told People, adding, “I love what I do. I love making music and I love being on that stage, more than any place in the world. … I love creating. That’s what I’ve always done, so I don’t see [slowing down] in my near future. My life is already so planned out. I know what I’m doing in 2027!”<\/p>\n Chesney is really excited for his June 2026 shows and that’s where he’s focused at the present time. He hasn’t shared any definitive plans \u2014 or potential tours \u2014 outside of what’s already been announced.<\/p>\n “The more I watched the fans having this experience I\u2019m sure they couldn\u2019t imagine, the more ideas I had \u2013 both to reconfigure some of last year\u2019s songs, and a few songs that seemed like they should get this immersive treatment \u2013 and wanted to do,” Chesney said on his decision to return to The Sphere<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ahead of his 2026 shows at The Sphere, Chesney will be busy promoting his new book, “Heart Life Music,” which will be released on Nov. 4.
