Taylor\u2019s marriage to businessman Russell Armstrong crumbled on national television during RHOBH\u2019s first two seasons, with Armstrong later dying by suicide in 2011. One thing RHOBH<\/em> did do, however, was give Taylor a sense of safety.<\/p>\n\u201cHe\u2019s not going to hit me and take a risk that I\u2019m going to have a bruise on camera,\u201d she recalled thinking, noting that when RHOBH<\/em> premiered in 2010, \u201cit was quite evident\u201d to viewers that there was \u201csomething off\u201d in the marriage.<\/p>\nTaylor eventually filed for divorce from Russell in July 2011. During Friday\u2019s podcast, Taylor further detailed the early days of their relationship, Taylor said there were \u201clittle red flags\u201d that she ignored.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause I liked him so much, I just thought, \u2018Oh, it\u2019s because he likes me so much he doesn\u2019t want me to talk to other guys.\u2019 Then it just builds the jealousy, builds the control, builds over time,\u201d she said. \u201cI had a textile company at the time in downtown L.A. and he started saying, \u2018I don\u2019t want you to work. You shouldn\u2019t have to work. I\u2019ll take care of you.\u2019 It felt very knight in shining armor at first.\u201d<\/p>\n
