CBS Mornings <\/i>anchor Gayle King<\/strong><\/a> is putting rumors to rest about whether she recently got engaged \u2014 or married \u2014 in secret.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeen getting a lot of texts, a lot of messages, stories online that I got engaged,\u201d King, 70, said on the Friday, October 31, news broadcast<\/a>. \u201cTake a look at me with a big ring on my finger. There\u2019s a lucky man \u2014 I have no idea who he is.\u201d<\/p>\n

A flurry of images of King posing with a diamond ring on that <\/i>finger recently circulated on social media, though the legendary TV journalist explained that the images aren\u2019t even real.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese AI-generated images have been making their way across the internet,\u201d King explained. \u201cSo, I\u2019m here to say exclusively on CBS Mornings<\/i>, I\u2019m not married, not even engaged.\u201d<\/p>\n

The photos had even fooled several of King\u2019s friends, who subsequently sent her a handful of congratulatory messages about her apparent nuptials.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople have been saying, \u2018Congratulations,\u2019 \u2018Love really happened to you,\u2019 \u2018I\u2019m so happy for you.\u2019 That isn\u2019t me,\u201d she quipped. \u201cEven I looked at it and [asked], \u2018Is that me?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the AI-generated stories further claimed that King had found love with a prominent businessman.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere is he? I would like to see you<\/a>, sir! Show yourself,\u201d she joked on Friday, reading aloud the story. \u201c\u2018Known for his philanthropic efforts and his low-profile lifestyle, the revelation has been a new layer of intrigue to the story, meaning we\u2019re curious about who this lucky partner is.\u2019 He\u2019s so lucky, even my kids said, \u2018Mom, who is this?\u2019 Well, I have no idea!\u201d<\/p>\n

King further stressed that she\u2019s still single, adding that any eligible bachelors \u201cstill have a shot\u201d to win her heart.<\/p>\n
